How to Use Your Cooler

How to Use Your Chiller Cooling Pouch

1. Prepare The Inner Cooling Wallet: Immerse the inner cooling wallet containing the crystals in cold water and soak for 20-30 minutes.

2. Spread the Crystals Evenly: Manipulate the inner cooling wallet to evenly distribute the crystals throughout the panels.

3. Dry Gently: Gently towel dry and leave the inner cooling wallet to air dry for approx. 5 minutes, allowing the crystals to absorb any excess water.

4. Place the Inner Wallet: When semi-dry to the touch, place the activated inner cooling wallet in its protective cover.

5. Pack your Medication: Place your medication in the Chiller and you’re all set for 45 hours of temperature-controlled storage!

How to Re-Activate Your Pouch

These cooling bags are reusable again and again, ready to go whenever you are! You can easily extend your travel and storage needs by simply reactivating the evaporation process! Here’s how to keep them going:

  • Reactivate the crystals every 45 hours or as soon as the gel starts to diminish and re-crystallize. Submerge the inner cooling wallet in water again to maintain your medication's safety.
  • Reactivation only takes 2-4 minutes when your cooling case is used continuously, as the crystals will still be partially active.

How to Care for Your Chillers

Like a faithful friend, your cooling bags are there for you whenever you need them. With a little TLC, they can last a lifetime! Here's how to keep them in tip-top shape and benefit from years of temperature-controlled storage for your insulin, EpiPen, and medications.

Maintenance Tips:

When not in use, make sure your cooling pouches are dry! Take out the inner cooling wallet and let it air dry until the crystals return to their original form. For a quicker dry, cozy it up near a warm spot like a radiator or sunny windowsill. Remember to shake it up now and then to ensure the crystals are evenly spread and ready for your next excursion.

Cleaning Instructions:

The outer protective wallet can be washed in warm water with a gentle detergent. But the inner cooling wallet requires more care. A spot treatment with a soft brush and non-bleach antibacterial spray will keep clean and ready for action!

Included with your Cooler

The Chiller cooling pouches consist of two parts:

  • 1 x inner cooling wallet
  • 1 x outer cover

ADVANCED EVAPORATIVE COOLING TECHNOLOGY

Frequently asked questions

How Long Do the Chiller Cooling Pouches Keep Medications Cool?

When activated as instructed, the Chiller Cooling Pouches keep your insulin and medication cool between 64–79°F / 18–26°C for at least 45 hours, even in ambient temperatures up to 100°F / 38°C.

Can I Extend the Cooling Duration of My Chiller Pouch?

Yes, and that's what makes the Chillers so convenient, as they are reusable indefinitely.

When 45 hours are up — or as soon as you notice the gel starting to diminish and re-crystallize — simply submerge the inner wallet in water again for 2–4 minutes to reactivate it.

There is no limit to how many times you can reactivate it, meaning the Chiller can keep your medication cool for days, weeks, or months of continuous use with nothing more than access to water.

How Do I Use the Chiller Cooling Pouches?

It's very simple. Submerge the inner cooling wallet in cold water and soak for 20–30 minutes. Then manipulate the wallet to evenly distribute the crystals across all panels. Gently towel dry, then leave to air dry for approximately 5 minutes so the crystals can absorb any remaining surface moisture. Once semi-dry to the touch, place the activated inner wallet back into its outer protective cover, add your medications, and you’re ready for up to 45 hours of temperature-controlled medication storage.

Do the Chiller Pouches Refrigerate Medications, or Just Protect Them From Heat?

The Chiller Cooling Pouches are designed exclusively for heat protection — they maintain medications cool between 64–79°F / 18–26°C.

They are not suitable for insulin or medications that must be refrigerated (36–46°F / 2–8°C).

💡If your medication requires refrigeration, please explore our range of mini fridges and refrigerated travel cases.

What Is Evaporative Cooling and How Does It Keep My Medications Cool?

The Chiller Cooling Pouches for Insulin & Medications use a two-part system:

  • an inner cooling wallet containing specialized crystals
  • and an outer protective cover.

When soaked in water, the crystals absorb the water and form a gel-like substance. As that moisture gradually evaporates, it naturally absorbs heat from the surrounding environment — the same principle that makes sweat cool your body.

This controlled evaporation process keeps the interior of the pouch within the safe room-temperature range of 64–79°F / 18–26°C for at least 45 hours, even in outside temperatures as high as 100°F / 38°C.

How Do I Know the Crystals Are Still Active and Working?

It’s easy to tell by look and feel. When fully active, the crystals have absorbed water and the inner wallet feels soft, flexible, and gel-like — you’ll be able to see and feel the gel distributed across the panels.

As the evaporation does its work, the gel gradually decreases and the crystals begin to return to their original dry, granular form.

When you notice the wallet starting to firm up and the gel visibly diminishing, that’s your cue to reactivate. If you’re ever unsure, a quick touch tells you — soft and pliable means still active, dry and grainy means time to reactivate.

Can I Use the Chiller Insulin Cool Pouche Without a Freezer or Electricity?

Yes, and this is one of the Chiller’s most important advantages. The only thing required to activate the Chiller Cooling Pouches is water. No freezer, no power outlet, no USB cable, no power bank.

This makes them ideal for situations where none of those are available: camping, hiking, travel to remote locations, long road trips, school, or work environments without a freezer. As long as you have access to water for reactivation every 45 hours, the Chiller will keep your medications cool indefinitely.

How Do I Choose the Right Chiller Pouch Size for My Medication?

The Chiller Cooling Pouches for Insulin & Medication come in four sizes to match how many injection pens or devices you carry.

  • The Small Pouch (1 pen) is the most compact and suits users who carry a single insulin pen or EpiPen daily.
  • The Medium Pouch (1–2 pens) adds room for a second pen or small accessories.
  • The Big Pouch (1–3 pens) is well suited for users managing multiple medications at room temperature.
  • The Large Pouch (1–4 pens) is the biggest option.

ℹ️ Check the product images for the exact internal dimensions of each size to confirm your pens fit, or contact our support team if you have any doubt.

Can I Use the Chiller Cooling Pouches for Ozempic, Mounjaro, Zepbound, Wegovy, and Other GLP-1 Injections?

Yes. The Chillers are ideal cooler bags for GLP-1 medications.

Once opened, GLP-1 medications need to be kept cool at room temperature below 77–86°F / 25–30°C depending on the brand, which is exactly what the Chiller does.

The Medium size fits 1–2 standard GLP-1 pens, and the Large fits up to 3–4 depending on pen format.

💡For unopened GLP-1 pens that must be kept at fridge temperature (36–46°F / 2–8°C), you will need one of our refrigerated travel cases instead.

Can I Use the Chiller Cooling Pouches for EpiPens?

Yes — and this is one of the use cases the Chiller Cooling Pouch is specifically designed for.

Epinephrine injections like EpiPens must be kept within 68–77°F / 20–25°C and should never be exposed to extreme heat or cold. The Chiller maintains the internal temperature well within that range, and its flat, lightweight pouch format makes it easy to carry an EpiPen discreetly at all times — in a backpack, a school bag, a pocket, or a first aid kit.

What Medications Are Compatible With the Chiller Cooling Pouches?

Any medication that needs to be kept at room temperature below 79°F / 26°C.

This includes open, in-use insulin pens and vials, GLP-1 injections (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, Saxenda, Trulicity, and others), EpiPens and other epinephrine injections (Auvi-Q, Adrenaclick, Symjepi, Twinject), glucagon emergency kits, biologic and autoimmune injections (Humira, Enbrel, Cosentyx, Dupixent, Kevzara, Taltz, and others), migraine injections (Aimovig, Emgality, Ajovy), growth hormone pens, multiple sclerosis injections, cholesterol injections, eye drops, and many more.

ℹ️ If your medication isn’t listed, contact our support team and we’ll be happy to help confirm compatibility!

Is the Chiller Suitable for Kids and Teens Managing Their Own Medication at School?

Yes — the Chiller is one of the most child-friendly medication coolers in the 4AllFamily range. There are no buttons, no cables, no settings, and no electricity required.

Once activated by an adult at home, a child simply places their medication inside and carries it through the day. The flat, slim pouch slips discreetly into a school bag, a backpack pocket, or a lunchbox without drawing attention. Reactivation only requires water, which a child or teenager can easily do on their own when needed.

Can I Fly With the Chiller Insulin Cooling Pouches?

Yes. The Chiller Cooling Pouches are TSA-compliant and can be carried through airport security in your hand luggage.

The inner cooling wallet, when activated, contains a gel-like substance — make sure to bring it semi-dry rather than dripping wet through security to avoid any questions. Always carry your medications inside the pouch to demonstrate medical use.

Is the Chiller Cooling Pouch for Insulin & Medication Eligible for HSA/FSA Payment?

Yes. The Chillers Cooling Pouches for Insulin, EpiPen, and Medications can be purchased using HSA (Health Savings Accountor FSA (Flexible Spending Account) funds, letting you save up to 30% compared to paying with after-tax money.

The Flex payment option is available at checkout.
