Most open insulin pens in active use can be stored at room temperature below 79°F (26°C) for 28–56 days, depending on the brand. The Rambler Pro is the perfect all-day companion — its electric cooling system keeps your pen consistently below that threshold, even on the hottest days or in warm environments.

ℹ️ Unopened / Refrigerated Insulin

The Rambler Pro can also maintain fridge temperatures (36–46°F / 2–8°C) using the Electric USB-LID — useful for transporting a single unopened pen that requires strict refrigeration.

For carrying multiple insulin pens or vials at fridge temperature, we recommend our collection of mini fridges and refrigerated travel cases for insulin.

Cooling Modes & Performance

The Rambler Pro Insulin Cooler offers three cooling methods to keep your insulin pen protected from heat — whether you have access to power or not.

⚡ Cooling Method 1: Electric USB-LID (Connected to External Power)

Connects to any standard USB power source — wall outlet, car USB port, power bank, or laptop. The LED display activates and you set your desired internal temperature using the (+) and (−) buttons.

• Primary use: Keeping your in-use insulin pen safe from heat, all day
• Adjustable temperature range: 36–77°F (2–25°C)
• Operating ambient range: -4°F to 95°F (-20°C to 35°C)
• Duration: Unlimited — as long as power is connected

💡 Pro Tip: Plug in 15–30 minutes before inserting your insulin pen, so the cooler has already reached your target temperature.

3 Working Intensity Levels Depending on the Ambient Temperature:

• 1st gear: keeps your insulin cool at 36–77°F (2–25°C) when the ambient temperature is 14°F to 68°F (-10°C to 20°C)
• 2nd gear: keeps your insulin cool at 36–77°F (2–25°C) when the ambient temperature is 5°F to 86°F (-15°C to 30°C)
• 3rd gear: keeps your insulin cool at 36–77°F (2–25°C) when the ambient temperature is -4°F to 95°F (-20°C to 35°C)

Use a higher gear on hotter days for best performance!

🔋 Cooling Method 2: Electric USB-LID (Built-In 10,000 mAh Battery)

The included 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery slots into the Electric USB-LID for fully cordless electric cooling — no cables required.

• Primary use: All-day cordless insulin protection
• Temperature range: 36–77°F (2–25°C), adjustable
• Operating ambient range: -4°F to 95°F (-20°C to 35°C)

BATTERY DURATION: 4–30+ hours depending on working intensity and target temperature:

• Room temperature protection (68–79°F / 20–26°C) at 1st gear: 30+ hours
• Fridge temperature (36–46°F / 2–8°C) at higher gear: 4–8 hours

🧊 Cooling Method 3: Biogel Ice-Pack Only (No Electricity Needed)

For shorter outings, the included Biogel Ice-Pack provides simple, effective cooling without any power source.

• Temperature maintained: Below 77°F (25°C)
• Duration: 10–16 hours under typical conditions
• No electricity required

⚠️ The Biogel method keeps temperatures below 77°F (25°C) — ideal for in-use insulin needing heat protection. For strict refrigeration at 36–46°F (2–8°C), use the Electric USB-LID method.

How to Use Your Rambler Pro Insulin Pen Cooler

⚡Method 1: USB-LID Connected to Power

1. Connect: Screw the Electric USB-LID into the Stainless Steel Thermos until firmly closed.
2. Power on: Plug the USB cable into the USB-PORT on the side of the Electric USB-LID and connect to your power source. The LED display will light up.
3. Set temperature: Use (+) and (−) to set the internal temperature to your insulin's safe range.
4. Pre-cool: Wait 15–30 minutes for the unit to reach target temperature before inserting your insulin.
5. Load: Open the Electric USB-LID, insert your insulin pen into the aluminum tube, and re-screw onto the thermos.
6. Monitor: Check the real-time LED display at any time to confirm your insulin is at a safe temperature.

🔋Method 2: USB-LID with Built-In Battery

1. Charge: Ensure the included 10,000 mAh battery is fully charged (solid non-blinking indicator = full).
2. Insert battery: Slide it into the battery chamber below the LED display on the Electric USB-LID.
3. Assemble: Screw the Electric USB-LID onto the Stainless Steel Thermos.
4. Power on: Press and hold the center button until the LED display lights up.
5. Set temperature & intensity: Use (+) and (−) for temperature. Tap the center button to select working intensity — use a higher gear in warmer conditions.
6. Load: Once the cooler reaches your target temperature, insert your insulin pen.

🧊 Method 3: Biogel Ice-Pack Only

1. Shake: Shake the Biogel before freezing so the gel spreads evenly.
2. Freeze: Lay flat in the freezer for at least 6 hours. Longer is fine and won't cause damage.
3. Activate: Submerge in lukewarm tap water for 30–60 seconds (no hot water). Alternatively, leave at room temperature for 10–15 minutes.
4. Dry & load: Pat dry, place in the stainless steel thermos with your insulin pen, and close the cooler with the stainless steel lid.
