Cooling Performance Based on Outside Temperature

When used with the Biogel cooling pack, the Companion medical cooler bag maintains a cool temperature between 2°C and 26°C (36°F–79°F).
Cooling duration depends on the external ambient temperature:

🌡️ Outside temperature 40°C (104°F) → The cooler bag keeps your insulin and medication cool between 2°C–26°C for up to 10 hours

🌡️ Outside temperature: 35°C (95°F) → The cooler bag keeps your insulin and medication cool between 2°C–26°C for up to 12 hours

🌡️ Outside temperature: 30°C (86°F) → The cooler bag keeps your insulin and medication cool between 2°C–26°C for up to 14 hours

⚠️ Important!

• The medication cooler bag is designed only for open or in-use medications that must be kept below 26°C (79°F), but not refrigerated. To carry refrigerated medications, please check our mini fridges.

How to Use The Companion Cooler Bag for Insulin and Medicines

1. Prepare the Biogel: For even distribution, shake the Biogel freeze pack up and down four or five times.

2. Freeze the Biogel Cold Pack: Place the Blue Biogel Cold Pack in your freezer for 6 to 8 hours until completely frozen. The gel within the pack is designed to efficiently absorb and retain cold temperatures to keep your medication cool.

2. Prepare the Cold Pack for Use: Once the Biogel Cold Pack is frozen, immerse it in warm water for approximately 60 seconds. This step ensures that the gel inside the pack achieves the optimal consistency for effective cooling and prevents your medications from freezing when in direct contact with it.

3. Insert the Biogel Pack in Your Cooler Bag: Once the Blue Biogel Cold Pack is prepared, simply insert it into the insulated cooling bag.

4. Add Your Insulin Pens or Other Medicines: Place your insulin pens, vials, or other temperature-sensitive medications inside the medical cooler bag along with the Biogel Ice Pack.

5. Ready for Travel! With your medications securely stored and cooled inside the Companion, you're good to go for up to 14 hours of travel (see detailed cooling performances below or on the product images). 

6. Replenish Cooling: If needed, you can easily prolong the cooling duration of your cooler bag by swapping out the cold pack with a newly frozen one. Extra Blue Gel Cold Packs are available for purchase here.
