The Rambler Insulin Travel Case is very easy to use.

Freeze the included Biogel pack for a minimum of 6 hours (longer if you want). Before use, submerge it in warm water for 30–60 seconds to bring its surface temperature up to a safe level and prevent direct contact with insulin at below-freezing temperatures. Dry it gently, place it inside the Rambler along with your injection pen, seal the lid, and you’re done. No buttons, no cables, no settings.

The whole process takes under a minute and your cooling case is ready to go for up to 16 hours of cooling.

No. The Rambler works entirely through passive cooling using the included Biogel freeze pack — no electricity, no USB, no charging of any kind.

Yes. Simply purchase one or more additional Biogel packs and swap them out when the first one warms up. Keep a spare in the freezer at home or in a hotel room minibar, and you can extend protection indefinitely.

If you forget to freeze the Biogel pack, the Rambler Insulin Travel Case will not cool effectively — the pack needs at least 6 hours in the freezer before use. In a pinch, freezing it for 3–4 hours will give partial performance, but for full cooling duration always aim for 6 hours or more.

The pack can stay in the freezer indefinitely without any issues, so we recommend always storing i in the freezer so it's ready whenever you need it.

The Biogel freeze packs included with our medical coolers are designed to last indefinitely with regular use — there is no fixed lifespan and it does not degrade with repeated freeze-thaw cycles. As long as the pack remains intact and shows no signs of physical damage, leaking, or unusual changes in texture, it will continue to perform as expected.

The only reason to replace it is if it becomes punctured, torn, or starts leaking. If that happens, replacement Biogel packs are available here.
