Instrucciones para guardar Ozempic: Recordatorio!
Si te parece, primero vamos a recordarnos de las instrucciones de almacenamiento oficiales de Ozempic. Según Novo Nordisk, su fabricante, para asegurarte que tu pluma inyectable de Ozempic se mantiene segura y no pierde eficacia, hay que respetar unas condiciones específicas de almacenamiento. ¿El Ozempic necesita estar refrigerado?
Sí. Tus plumas de Ozempic sin abrir deben guardarse refrigeradas entre 36°F y 46°F(2°C - 8°C).
Después de su primer uso, el Ozempic se puede armazenar a temperatura ambiente (pero siempre por debajo de los 86°F o 30°C), o volver a guardarse en el refrigerador. Sin embargo, la pluma deberá utilizarse en un plazo máximo de 56 días a contar desde el primer día de uso.

¿Cuánto tiempo dura Ozempic?
Pues, eso depende de muchas cosas. Las plumas de Ozempic que están sin abrir, que se guardan bien en el refrigerador y cuya cadena de frío no se haya roto, serán buenas hasta su fecha de vencimiento "oficial", que podrás encontrar impresa directamente en la pluma o en su embalaje.
Pero, una vez abiertas, o sacadas del refrigerador, las plumas de Ozempic estarán buenas durante un máximo de 56 días. Debes tirar cualquier pluma que haya sido abierta o sacado del refrigerador durante más de 56 días (incluso si todavía queda medicación dentro).
Además, y es muy importante, si se exponen a temperaturas superiores a 86°F (30°C) durante períodos prolongados, tus plumas de Ozempic ya no serán seguras para su uso, y deberás tirarles.

¿Qué pasa si Ozempic no se refrigera?
Lo bueno es que Ozempic puede estar sin refrigerar hasta un máximo de 56 días. Pero, si se guarda sin refrigeración por más tiempo que esto, debe tirarse.
De acuerdo con los experimentos de laboratorio, la semaglutida en el Ozempic comienza a perder su eficacia después de esos 56 días fuera del frigorífico, y ya puede que deje de ayudar a reducir tus niveles de azúcar en sangre.
Pero además, siempre debes tener cuidado y proteger tus plumas de Ozempic de las temperaturas extremas. De hecho, si se expone a temperaturas superiores a 86°F (30°C), Ozempic podría estropearse, y su eficacia ya no estaría garantizada.
Por lo tanto, si vives en lugares cálidos, deberías usar un enfriador médico cuando necesites transportar tu medicación, como los de 4AllFamily.

¿Qué pasa si Ozempic se congela?
Pues, si se congela, le pasa lo mismo a Ozempic que a la insulina o a otros medicamentos. Nunca debe congelarse. El Ozempic es una solución acuosa (con agua). La semaglutida, su principio activo, se disuelve en agua. Por ello, al igual que el agua, el Ozempic se congela a 32°F (0°C) y se vuelve sólido. Y, al congelarse, la solución se descompone, y ya no puede recuperar su eficacia original.
Por todo ello, una vez que el Ozempic se ha congelado, ya no es seguro usarlo, aunque se haya descongelado posteriormente. Si te pasa congelar tus plumas de Ozempic por accidente, deberás tirarlas inmediatamente y usar una nueva pluma.

¿Cómo saber si Ozempic se ha estropeado?
El Ozempic (semaglutida) en buen estado, es claro e incoloro. Si notas elementos sólidos, como hilos o partículas dentro de tu pluma, si ha cambiado de color o tiene un aspecto diferente al habitual, probablemente tu pluma se haya echado a perder.
El que tus niveles de glucosa en sangre sean inusuales, también pueden ser un signo de que tu medicación no está funcionando como debería, y que podría haberse estropeado.
En caso de duda, desecha inmediatamente tu pluma y consigue una nueva. Acuérdate, inyectar medicación estropeada puede tener consecuencias graves para tu salud.

1. If the Ozempic pens were wrapped with ice during transportation that lasted only 1 hour, they have most probably not reach room temperature and were under refrigeration conditions. So I would say that if you’ve put them in your fridge once at home, you can consider they’ve been refrigerated the whole time.
2. We do not recommend transporting refrigerated medication with ice, mainly for two reasons. The first one is that direct contact with ice could freeze your Ozempic, which is not good. The second one is that this is not a reliable refrigeration method as you never know how quick the temp. will rise.

You should not use a pierced pen of Ozempic. Damaged pens aren’t safe for use, and even more so if they’ve been emerged in water. The water may contain bacteria or other harmful substances that can contaminate your pen and lead to infection or other health issues.
We would definitely recommend not using it or asking for your pharmacist or doctor’s advice first.

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell if your Ozempic was frozen or not. We would recommend not using them because frozen Ozempic may have lost its properties and become inefficient.
If you still decide to use them, make sure to keep a close watch on your blood sugar. Unusually high blood sugar levels may be a sign your Ozempic was frozen…In that case, throw them away and get new ones.

You can find the expiration date either on the carton box or the Ozempic pen itself.
Ozempic pens can only stay out of the fridge for a maximum of 56 days, even if they have not been used or open yet. The medicine might still look clear and have no particles in it, but that does not mean it hasn’t lost efficiency. We’d definitely advice sticking to the manufacturer’s instructions and not using this pen.

Most of the time, if the medication has reached high temperatures, it deteriorates and loses efficiency but should not make you vomit or have diarrhea. Regarding the overnight in a hot car, it depends what was the temperature inside. If it was above 86°F (30°C), you should be careful. Below that temperature, it’s fine to use.
